Doug Frampton
Doug has worked in the hospitality industry for 19 years. He is experienced in bartending, catering and food preparation. His first exposure to the world of food and drink came when working with Gallagher & Gallagher the Caterers, in Wilmington while attending the University of Delaware. After 4 years with G&G, he moved to Naperville, Illinois where he served as general manager for Pockets, Inc, located in Aurora, Illinois. Pockets was a 25,000 square foot upscale sports bar featuring a full menu. After an eleven year run, Pockets closed to yield way to a new club designed by the same owners. The Foundry, built in an old four screen movie theatre, was 32,000 square feet with two levels and included three full bars, sports viewing on over 100 televisions, 16 billiard tables, a fine dining restaurant and the Trio Room – a jazz club overlooking the entire venue. As G.M. of the Foundry, Doug had great success in opening such a large establishment with help from a great team of employees and management.
Every year, Doug and his wife Lisa would vacation in Dewey Beach, Delaware, with their good friends, the Gallaghers. Each time they prepared to leave they would already be planning the return trip to their beach “home away from home”. Making the move only seemed to be a matter of time…
In April of 2002, Doug decided to return to Delaware and was hired to run the food and beverage departments of Hartfeld National Golf Course. He remained with the 1492 Group until he was offered the chance to oversee the opening of the newest Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, located in the city of Wilmington on the riverfront. Working at Iron Hill reignited his love of great beer and dedication to working with a terrific team of people. He remained with Iron Hill until January of 2006, when the opportunity to own and operate his own business became available.
“My passion is making sure my guests feel welcomed wherever I have worked. To all of the great people, employees and mentors I have met along the way, Thank you.”

Denise (Frampton) Stiglitz
G’day mates!! Denise lived with her family in New South Wales, Austrailia, for seven years, before returning “stateside” to Naperville, Illinois to finish up high school in 1990. She worked to tone down her half-Austrailian, half-American accent and quickly mastered the soothing sounds of the midwesterner. She then attended Northern Illinois University and got her degree in textiles, apparel and merchandising. While in college, she worked part-time as a server at Pockets, Inc.
Her life travels then took her to Dallas, Texas where she was Assistant General Manager of Patrizio’s, a multi-million dollar operation. In time, she missed her family and friends and decided to move back to Illinois. She then came onboard the Hollywood Casino – Aurora Riverboats as the Assistant General Manager of Fairbanks Steakhouse. It was Fairbanks that introduced her to the world of fine dining, cigars and wines – it became her responsibility to critique and research new products. However, she did not seem to find out much about “cigars” and “fine dining”, as most of her focus appeared to be on the wine.
After spending two and a half years with the Casino, Denise moved to manage the fine dining restaurant located within The Foundry. She served as Assistant General Manager to her brother Doug, and brought extensive knowledge needed to open and run a full service restaurant within a 32,000 square foot entertainment venue. The long hours of working in the restaurant, side by side with her family, started the seeds of the thought of someday operating a family owned business.
In April of 2002, she moved to Delaware with Doug and Lisa. Surprise, surprise, she went to work for the Iron Hill group and acquired an appreciation for something new: good beer! She served as Doug’s Assistant General Manager at the Iron Hill Riverfront in Wilmington, before moving to the Newark store. She actively worked to promote and build the culture and beer background the company is well known for.
It was at the Wilmington store that her path crossed with an ornary, yet personable sous chef named Michael Stiglitz. Despite his habit of calling himself “Stigz”, she agreed to go out with him…
In September of 2005, she found herself changing the name on her Delaware drivers license to Denise Stiglitz.
Forward to April 2006 and Denise, Stigz, Doug and Lisa got the keys to their future. Denise’s design background came in very handy for the revamping of the restaurant – her industry knowledge paired with attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the foursome.
Lisa (Krumin) Frampton
Her story begins in the humble state of Wisconsin. In her senior year of high school, she got a job waitressing in an italian restaurant on the “wrong side of town” over the objections of her grandmother. Thus began her lifelong love of “the industry” (and stirring up trouble).
After high school, she attended Northern Illinois University to major in advertising. Two semesters later, she decided to “take a break” from her studies to pursue her dream of bringing people food and cleaning up after them. She then landed herself a serving gig at a little sports bar called Pockets, Inc.
It was here she met Doug Frampton, who hounded her for five years until she finally gave in and married him in May of 1998.
She worked for Hollywood Casino-Aurora Riverboat for nine and a half years. Her stint started as a cocktail waitress, where she was forced to wear outfits like the “Naughty Bellhop” and “Wonderwoman meets Popeye the Gay Sailor”. This required mode of dress only furthered her commitment to the food and beverage biz. Where else can you make a great living from total insanity?? After four years of cocktailing, she moved to the Casino Pavillion, to the fine dining restaurant, Fairbanks Steakhouse. It was here that she realized wine doesn’t only come in a box, sometimes it comes in pretty bottles (with corks)! It was a happy life – nice people to wait on and work with.
In the spring of 2002, Doug and Lisa waved goodbye to Illinois and moved to Delaware with their three legged cat, Josie. After a year working at the historic Columbus Inn, Lisa joined her husband on the Iron Hill team and went to work in Newark as a server. She then became their Administrative Assistant and eventually was promoted to Floor Manager - her first taste of “responsibility” at the tender age of 35. The three years with Iron Hill Restaurant and Brewery was an invaluable experience as it taught her more of the business side to “the business”.
In April 2006, Doug, Denise, Stigz and herself took on the task of owning their own restaurant. A dream come true. Many hours were spent painting, planning and working to bring their vision to life. All of a sudden the old twelve hour workday of times gone by seemed like a vacation day, really.
Please be sure to pick up a copy of her upcoming autobiography: "I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (Somebody Please Kill Me)". Out in stores this fall.
